Job Description Closely work with the existing bookkeeper in an office with multiple businesses. It is a full time position with occasional overtime needed. Will be working with all businesses within the office as well as interfacing with customers, vendors, potential employees and executive staff.Various administrative accounting/bookkeeping tasks that may include but are not limited to: answering phone, customer service, record keeping, processing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, compiling and submitting reports, and all other related items as assigned. Responsibilities -Organize and maintain project files for assigned jobs from start to close-Prepare contracts and/or proposal letters upon request by management-Ensure accurate and timely completion of Construction Liens and Waivers, this may include working with the State Construction Registry-Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; allocate expenses -Reconcile monthly statements-Pay vendors, verify federal id numbers, request insurance certificates, prepare checks, resolve invoice payment discrepancies-Accurately complete and submit quarterly sales tax reports-Compose and type routine correspondences-Collect and input all time cards; assist in keeping track of payroll and time off Qualifications -Display a positive attitude with great communication skills, both verbally and written-Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to a growing work environment while being organized-Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail -Possess the ability to be a team player and self-starter with a commitment to customer serviceAt least (2) years of successful administrative bookkeeping experience with construction industry knowledge desirableMust be familiar with construction Lien waiver process, sales tax and tax exemption this knowledge is very beneficial for this position and preferredMust have experience with QuickBooks accounting program and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook***Pay based on knowledge and experience***Sorry, company benefits are NOT offered at this time Additional Information About us:South Shop Steel is a small but well established steel fabrication construction company that is continually growing.
